London Lights, Guilt Tripping & the New Ipod

So I'm in London right now; my mum had her surgery and is good and well. She broke my heart, but also worried me with her extreme self-pity for such a simple surgery. I have a feeling she just realized she is old, like in her 60's old. Of course she took full advantage of my worry for her and used it to have me spoil her like no tomorrow. Everything from washing her hair, to zipping her skirt, to having me tell her when the taxi window is open. Yeah so you can spot me from 100m and scream 'MIYAAAAAAAAAAA' in front of everyone, but a window 5 inches from your face you can't see.

I even had to tell her 'Besich dala3'. Seriously, it's getting ridiculous. I'm glad she is ok, but she better stop abusing my gladness for her being ok, by having me do every little thing for her. I can't say no to her, but I think when we are buying groceries and she calls me over for help cause she doesn't know which side the plastic bag opens, even before trying, then we have a problem.

So I went to the new shopping mall, Westfield in Shepherds Bush, it's huge, and has a nice mix of stores, with the luxury stores in a section called 'The Village'. According to their website they also have a handsfree shopping service, where they give you a card, and every time you buy something you show it at the till and they come collect your bags for you. Pretty handy.

Oh and remember how my ipod wasn't working, well I took it to the apple store in the mall with 3 days left on my warranty and they gave me a new one!! I didn't even have my receipt! They just checked it on the system, and even had my address on there from the serial number of the ipod. The guy didn't even test the ipod to see if it really wasn't working. The best part is it had the new features on it such as, the notes, maps etc woohooo. Btw the Digits said they couldn't fix it since I bought it in London and they couldn't fix it in rehab either.

So what are your Eid plans??

So glad to hear everything went well, 7amdillah 3la salamet-ha oo kha6akum il-soo2 :))

I love the Apple store, they always take care of me, my iPods and my 2 Macbook Pros quite amazingly whether it's London, New York, or Boston (You gotta love the cool NYC Apple store but Boston is my very fave for many reasons) :)

Eid: traveling first to somewhere special, then chalet, and then tent parties Bedu style in our families garden around the doowa with lots of kestena and chai 3al fe7m :)

great news about your mom :] lata36eenha wayh wayed 3ad, remind her of labour pains or something lol, or any period when she was especially strong.

Enjoy London, avoid the khaleeji crowds, and please have the following 3an kha6ri at least:

1) sirloin steak in 'El gaucho' (not to be confused with Gaucho Grill that exists in Kuwait) in Chelsea's farmers market off sydney street (7 min walk from South kensington tube station), excellent food, excellent atmosphere.. Or their other restaurant on old brompton road, very close to south kensington tube. BEST ARGENTINE STEAKS EVER!

2) Classic burger with onion rings in 'The American Diner' on Carnaby St. off Regent street (opposite Apple store on Regent). Actually most restaurants there are great, so pick and choose

O salamtich wet3eesheen

oh yeah 3eedich embarak!

God bless you child for tunrning into such a good natured human. Taking care of an ill loved one can have it's drawbacks.. I suggest venting out or taking short little breaks - I am speaking out of personal experience, however taking most of the year off to nurse her is just a mere fraction of what she handed & gave unconditionally. Hang in there and watch the nurse like a hawk, but make sure to smile as well.
